一、课程简介

大学英语是本科教育阶段必修的公共基础课程,是普通高等学校通识教育的一个重要组成部分,兼具工具性和人文性。其工具性主要体现在大学英语课程是基础教育阶段英语教学的提升和拓展,主要目的是在高中英语教学的基础上进一步提高学生英语听、说、读、写、译等语言综合应用能力。其人文性主要体现在以下几个方面:第一,大学英语课程的重要任务之一是进行跨文化教育。学生可通过英语学习了解国外的社会与文化,增进对不同文化的理解,加强对中外文化异同的认识,培养跨文化交际能力。第二,大学英语课程可培养学生对中国文化的理解和阐释能力,服务中国文化对外传播。第三,大学英语教学提高目标和发展目标要求语言学习对接专业学习,培养学生用英语进行学业学习、学术交流和研究的能力,从而提升学生的医学专业学术人文素养,实现通专融合。同时,要发展学生自主学习能力,提高综合文化素养,培养人文精神和思辨能力,使学生在学习、生活和未来工作中能够恰当有效地使用英语,满足国家、社会、学校和个人发展的需要。本课程将社会主义核心价值观和课程思政教学体系有机融入教学,使之在高等学校落实立德树人根本任务中发挥重要作用。

本课程作为必修课,为本科各专业学生开设。本大纲按外语教学与研究出版社出版的普通高等教育“十二五”规划教材《新视野大学英语》1234(第四版)读写教程思政智慧版、《新视野大学英语》1234(第三版)视听说教程思政智慧版为蓝本,依据《大学英语教学指南(2020版)》教学要求制定。

二、课程目标

英语I

1.能够基本满足日常生活、学习和未来工作中与个人密切相关的信息交流需求。

2.在正确运用英语语音、词汇、语法及篇章结构等语言知识方面,达到高中英语学业质量水平二的要求,并增加约800个单词的词汇量,其中150个单词与专业学习或未来工作相关。

3.能够基本理解中等难度的口头或书面材料,涉及常见的个人和社会交流题材。

4.就熟悉的主题或话题进行简单的口头和书面交流,如讨论、协商等,表达个人观点和态度。

5.能够就一般性话题进行有效的描述、说明或阐述,表达准确、连贯、得体。

6.能够利用网络资源、工具书或他人帮助,处理和加工不同场合中一般性话题的语言材料,理解主旨思想,明晰事实、观点与细节,领悟他人意图和态度,进而进行综合与合乎逻辑的判断,表达基本意思。

7.能够应用基本的学习策略。

8.来自不同文化背景的人进行交流时,能够观察到彼此之间的文化和价值观差异,并根据交际需要运用基本的交际策略。

英语II

1.能够满足日常生活、学习和未来工作中与自身密切相关的信息交流的需要。

2.能够正确地运用英语语音、词汇、语法及篇章结构等语言知识,在高中英语学业质量水平二应掌握的词汇基础上增加约1500个单词,其中300个单词为与专业学习或未来工作相关的词汇。

3.能够准确理解语言难度中等、涉及常见的个人和社会交流题材的口头或书面材料。

4.能够就熟悉的主题或话题进行简单的口头和书面交流,如讨论、协商等,表明观点和态度;能够就一般性话题进行有效的描述、说明或阐述,表达准确、连贯、得体。

5.能够借助网络资源、工具书或他人的帮助,对不同场合中一般性话题的语言材料进行处理和加工,理解主旨思想,明晰事实、观点与细节,领悟他人的意图和态度,进而进行综合与合乎逻辑的判断,表达达意。

6.能够运用基本的学习策略;在与来自不同文化背景的人进行交流时,能够观察到彼此之间的文化和价值观差异,并能根据交际需要运用基本的交际策略。

英语III

1能够在日常生活、学习和未来工作中就熟悉的话题使用英语进行独立的交流。理解他人意图,表达自己的观点。

2具备熟练地运用英语语音、语调、词汇、语法及篇章结构等语言知识,在高中应掌握的词汇基础上增加约2300个单词,其中包括450个单词为与专业学习或未来工作相关的词汇。

3在需要掌握的通识英语词汇的基础上,增加600个专业词汇。培养专业术语的表达能力,包括口头或书面材料理解,篇章结构和隐含意义。

4能够以口头和书面形式较清楚地描述事件、物品,陈述道理或计划,表达意愿等;

5能够就较熟悉的主题或话题进行较为自如的口头和书面交流,有效传递信息,比较和评析不同的意见,发表见解,表达连贯、得体、顺畅,符合相关文体规范和语体要求。

6能够运用学习策略;在进行跨文化交流时,能够应对与对方在文化和价值观等方面的差异,提高思辨能力,并能够根据交际需要较好地运用交际策略。

英语IV

1.能够独立运用英语进行日常生活、学习和未来工作中的交流,有效表达个人观点和需求,以及理解他人意图。

2.具备熟练运用英语语音、语调、词汇、语法及篇章结构等语言要素的能力,确保流畅和准确的沟通。

3.在已掌握的高中英语学业水平基础上,扩展词汇量,尤其是与专业学习或未来工作相关的术语,达到增加3000个单词的目标,其中包括至少600个专业术语。

4.能够理解中等难度的英语口头或书面材料,包括与个人专业相关的内容,理解材料的逻辑关系和隐含意义。

5.能够清晰描述事件、物品,陈述观点或计划,表达意愿,确保口头和书面表达的清晰和连贯。

6.能够就熟悉的主题或话题进行流畅的口头和书面交流,传递信息,比较和评价不同观点,表达连贯、得体,符合文体规范和语体要求。

7.能够灵活应用各种学习策略,提高学习效率和语言水平。

8.在跨文化交流中,能够适应并应对不同文化和价值观的差异,灵活运用交际策略,促进有效沟通。

For those who share the same beliefs and fight for the same noble cause, friendship means commitment and devotion to their common values and goals. A good example is the Chinese women’s national volleyball team, who have demonstrated the power of united and cooperative efforts.

Patriotism can be manifested in the years of war or in the years of peace. In today’s reform and opening up, our country still needs patriotism to realize the Chinese Dream. One of the exemplifiers of patriotism is the late scientist and geophysicist Huang Danian, whose expertise in deep earth exploration technology has helped China take the lead in a number of technical fields. Meanwhile, there is another message that advises us to save money for the future. So it can be confusing and difficult for us to make sensible decisions on whether to save or spend. The harmful consequences of excessively spending and borrowing money are obvious, especially for college students. The good news is that some financial services institutions, besides offering loans and credit cards, also provide us with basic knowledge of finances. An experiment performed on students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology reveals one of the weaknesses in human beings: It’s hard to bear seeing opportunities slip away. This next choice might be even better!” However, the interesting thing is that when there are too many choices and too much wealth in life, people usually feel less happy and more depressed. This kind of situation is not uncommon and can be noticed everywhere, and in the end nothing seems “good enough”.

The economy is extremely important to both society and individuals. Strong, healthy economies bring people opportunities for education, work and success. Like life, economies flow in cycles. In good economic times, jobs and money are plentiful, and few people give thought to the consequences of financial downturns. However, when the economic cycle shifts downward, employment declines and people suffer as their standard of living is severely affected, and their anxiety and uncertainty about the future grow. To face the ups and downs of life, it is important for us to consider, carefully and seriously, various economic issues that are happening every day. As college students, we may begin by acquiring some knowledge about the basic phenomena of economies and reflecting on the ways people make decisions about money. Indeed, each person should learn to understand the relationship between economy and society.

To contribute to this mission, China has been making ever greater efforts to conserve energy, improve energy efficiency, and develop renewable energy sources.

五、教学方式

除了利用一些传统的课堂教学模式,如以内容为依托的教学、以问题为依托的教学、以任务为依托的教学之外,还要与时俱进,在课堂教学中合理利用现代信息技术和互联网时代给教学资源、教学方法和教学手段等方面带来的便利,充分利用U校园和雨课堂教学平台,建设并使用微课、慕课等网上优质教育资源,尝试基于线下课堂教学和在线网上课程的混合式教学模式,采用启发式、讨论式、探究式教学方法,引领学生向主动学习、自主学习和个性化学习方向发展。

六、考核方式

本课程实行全过程考核评价,期末学业成绩包括过程性考核成绩和课程结业考试成绩两部分,过程性考核占总评成绩的30%,包括平时成绩(平时上课表现和网络自主学习情况)和第二课堂学习活动成绩等多个层面、多个维度。课程结业考试占总评成绩的70%,为期末闭卷考试。
